The Drusarians are a Tortle people known for their deep commitment to knowledge, communal wisdom, and a unique form of governance called the Spherarchy. They maintain a symbiotic relationship with Galamandis and are regarded as among the most philosophically advanced cultures in Rolara.
A Drusarian’s shell serves as a living record of their experiences. With each passing year, new etchings and carvings are added, creating a corporeal archive of personal history. These markings carry stories of significant events, relationships, and milestones, and are read by other Drusarians as a form of biography.
Governance
Drusarian society is organized through a system called the Spherarchy, a non-hierarchical structure in which each individual occupies a specific point within a conceptual sphere. Position is determined by personal development and contribution to the community rather than by birth, wealth, or martial prowess. Farmers, philosophers, and artisans are all valued equally within this framework.
Culture
The Drusarians uphold an ethic of continuous learning and growth. Knowledge bearers, called “Ydrys,” serve as guides rather than rulers, encouraging all Drusarians to pursue understanding. Wisdom is the most respected attribute in their society, and the Ydrys are its stewards rather than its gatekeepers.
The Drusarians are not a martial culture, though they are reportedly brave in intellectual and exploratory pursuits. Their foundational philosophy holds that the universe’s mysteries are to be understood rather than conquered, a principle that has sustained their peaceful existence for millennia.
The arrival of outsiders drawn by the Resonating Crystal has introduced new pressures on Drusarian society. How the Spherarchy adapts to external contact remains an open question.
