Arborea is an outer plane of chaotic good alignment characterized by its vast Forest of Honor, where berserkers dedicated to eradicating evil and angelic elves wander eternally. All natural features of the plane, not just the trees, are massive in scale. The most beautiful and sacred areas are defended by violent nature spirits.
Elves of any subrace feel at home in Arborea. When born on this plane, elves replace their creature type with Celestial but are otherwise still elves. Some Elf characters have traveled to Arborea instead of passing to the elven afterlife in Arvandor.
Localized Phenomena
Emotional Plane
Arborea is first and foremost a place of raw emotions. Though its denizens all tend to be good-aligned, rage and hatred are encouraged and honored the same as joy or love. The chaotic embrace of each emotion as it arises stands in stark contrast to the cold, calculated logic of a lawful outer plane such as Mechanus.
Intense Yearning
Keep track of how many days a visitor spends on Arborea. When the visitor leaves, it must make a Charisma saving throw against a DC of 5, plus 1 for each day spent on the plane. On a failed save, the creature becomes afflicted with a yearning to return to Arborea. As long as the effect persists, the creature has disadvantage on ability checks. At the end of each long rest, the creature can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success. A dispel evil and good spell removes this effect from the creature.
Notable Locations
Arborea contains the divine realm of Arvandor, celestial home of the Elven Pantheon. Notable destinations for travelers include the Field of Conquerors and Azardriel the Farrier’s Ranch.
