The Rock of Bral is an inhabited asteroid in Realmspace and one of the better-known trading ports in wildspace. It is not the largest market a spelljamming crew can reach, nor the safest, but it is among the most consistently supplied: crews put in at Bral because what cannot be found there generally cannot be found without a long voyage to whoever holds it.
Trade
Bral’s commercial reputation rests on the breadth of its traffic rather than on any local industry. Merchants arrive from spheres with no other point of contact, carrying goods that have no established market anywhere nearer, and the Rock functions as the place where those cargoes meet buyers who would otherwise never encounter them. Long-haul traders working routes that touch several spheres in a single circuit are a common sight, and stock of that kind turns over unpredictably: a component unobtainable on one visit may be sitting on a table the next, brought in by a crew who acquired it incidentally and does not know what it is worth.
The practical consequence for visitors is that Bral rewards asking. Buyers looking for something genuinely rare are usually directed onward rather than sold to, since the Rock’s merchants trade in contacts as readily as in goods.
Vessels change hands here as readily as cargo. A crew arriving with coin and leaving with a hull is unremarkable enough that the Rock keeps no particular record of it.
