Halflings are among Rolara’s most widely distributed peoples: small, agile, and frequently underestimated. In Rolaran lore they are counted as human, without qualification, which places them at the indistinguishable end of the spectrum described in Passes for Human. A stranger meeting a halfling does not register having met anything other than a person of short stature.
They are called Hobbits in The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying, which is the same people under a different publisher’s name rather than a separate species.
