Lord Harrick Tor is a wealthy patron of the House of Tor and a recurring presence in the brokerage of sensitive Tatharian movements: the disposition of unusual cargoes, the quiet refit of vessels at private slips, and the placement of resources where they can do useful work without drawing attention to themselves. He is not a public figure in the way that political officeholders are public, but he is well known in the merchant houses of Tatharia Capitolina and on the wharves of Harborside.
Disposition
By temperament, Harrick is a man of generous instinct and inherited tendencies. He prefers to be helpful when helpful is asked of him, and he extends courtesy across class lines that most of his peers do not bother to cross. The rough edges of his character are not cruelty but obliviousness: the assumption that what is good for him and his is broadly good, the unexamined comfort of a man who has never had to ask the price of a thing twice. He is the sort of patron whose generosity is real and whose blind spots are also real, and he does not always notice when one is in tension with the other.
Known Arrangements
- The Bull of Naram-Sin refit, two seasons past. Harrick held writ over the use of the Greater Mole's Deep Berth for the refit of the Bull of Naram-Sin, a vessel whose affiliation and current disposition are not on the public record. The Deep Berth has not been reopened since.
- The Jem’s Farm adamantine meteor. Harrick directed the disposition of an adamantine meteor recovered from Jem’s Farm to the Starfinder’s Mining and Resource Company. The farmer was not compensated for the meteor, a detail that has since been raised against the arrangement by parties with no stake in it beyond the principle.
Current Status
Active in Tatharia Capitolina. Has not appeared on screen in current campaign play. Surfaces in records and marginalia where his writ has authorized a movement of materiel through Tatharian channels.
